The Budgeting Sidekick Journal series is a guided budgeting resource that helps you create a concrete plan for managing your finances and holds you accountable to your budgeting goals. The bundle contains two journals, volumes 1 (5-month journal) and 2 (1-year journal), with daily thought-provoking, informative, and actionable content. It provides you with everything you need to better understand your relationship with money, and how to improve it through a daily budgeting process.
Each journal has 3 primary components:
Monthly prep
- Before every month, you’ll estimate your household income for the month
- You’ll ‘spend’ that income on paper - every dollar of it will be accounted for
Daily tracking
- Part of your monthly prep will include splitting your budget into two sections: A 'Fixed Expenses' portion (the stuff you have to pay for no matter what every month) & a 'Flexible Expenses' portion
- After setting your budgeting goals or the month, you'll know exactly how much money you have to spend on 'flexible expenses' throughout the course of the month
- Then, on a daily basis, you'll be tracking how much you're spending on 'flexible expenses', for real-time accountability to meet your monthly goal
Monthly reconciliation
- Compare your monthly preparation & predictions with what you actually ended up spending, saving, and putting towards debts
